15 Years Transformation Journey

I had a happy childhood and had an opportunity to indulge many good stuffs during my younger days.
My parents are typical chinese family who always have this belief that once you have given the food, you need to finish it all.
I grew up with this belief and rice is the "must" eat in our meals. Noodle, potato, corn are just like other side dishes that we can eat together with rice.

After I graduated from high school, I continued my study overseas and lived alone without any relatives. Being alone in a competitive environment gave me subconsciously stress eventhough I look like happy person.
And with those belief that has been implanted I always ate and finished a large portion of meal during my university days.
The heaviest day in my life was when my weight was 65 kg on my second year in university.

My period suddenly became irregular, I felt insecure and not energetic at all.

From that moment, I decided to change my lifestyle.
I didn't believe in crash diet either because it's not sustainable for me so I took a slow and safe method.

I started swimming at the campus facility two / three times a week for about 35 - 40 minutes duration. I reduced my meal portion and ate less rice.
During weekdays, I started cooking so I could control what I wanted to put inside the meals without having guilty feeling. Of course during weekends, when I went out with friends, I ate anything in a controlled portion.

I was losing quite amounts of weight and probably my weight was around 55 kg when I graduated from university. It was such a terrific achievement for my goal.

After I graduated, I started joining the gym at fitness center near to where I worked.
I did exercise alone without any guidance from personal trainers because their fee was beyond my affordability.
Eventhough my weight was maintained I felt more energetic. My diet was normal, I controlled my portion but I ate everything.

4 years later when I was about to marry my husband, my weight was around 52 kg so within three years I only lost around 3 kg with regular exercise and no specific diet plans.

6 months after our wedding day, I was pregnant with my first child and starting point was 52 kg and gained weight around 13 kg.

I stopped exercising right from my first trimester until my son was 18 months. And I lost 10 kg over 18 months without exercising and diet plan because I was breastfeeding my son for 14 months.

During those times, I was not feeling good. I was easily exhausted taking care the kid alone, having short temper and moody. I told myself this is not right, I need to do something.
In short, I decided to go back to gym again and this time round was ladies' gym and the monthly fee was affordable and the best part was it included personal trainer fee.

In the beginning, they measured my body composition and body measurement like the waist, arm, leg size so I could set a goal and saw if my goal was achieved within 2 months.
They helped out with some exercises style to achieve that goal and true enough I was losing 2 kg in 6 months and then it's stabilised.

Two years later, I was pregnant again with my second one and this time round I continued the exercise regime with modified exercise suitable for pregnant woman. I gained around 10 kg in total and losing weight quite fast within 6 months which was back to around 49 - 50 kg.

Then 2 years later, I was pregnant with my third one and still continued exercising. I gained around 10 kg as well and losing weight much faster than the previous pregnancy because I breastfed and needed to take care other boys alone.

I didn't use any special diet plan but ate a controlled portion, no sugar in my drinks, luckily I am not a sweet tooth person therefore it's an advantage.

Currently my weight is around 47 - 48 kg.
I still exercise regularly 3 - 4x a week, with 10 minutes cardio warm up, 30 minutes combination weight training and cardio exercise. And recently I adopt clean eating method where balance diet is the key but no or less sugar, salt, artificial seasoning and preservative.
