Prebiotics are a type of fiber that human body cannot digest. They serve as food for probiotics, which are tiny living microorganism.

The major source is dietary fibre, occurs naturally in fruits and vegetables and prebiotics supplements.

What are the benefits of Prebiotic?

What is Probiotics ?

Probiotics are live bacteria and yeasts that are good for us, especially for our digestive system.
There are three main types of Good bacteria :

  • Lactobacillus - found in yoghurt and fermented food, different strains can help diarrhoea, lactose in milk
  • Bifidobacterium - found in some dairy products. 
  • Saccharomyces Boulardii - a yeast found in probiotics, to help fight diarrhoea and other digestive problems.

What are the benefits of probiotics ?

There are three main benefits

  • digestive health - especially from the risk of taking antibiotics

  • gastrointestinal health - probiotic can help irritability bowel syndrome (constipation, bloating)

However, there are other evidence that support the potential benefits of probiotics, they found that probiotics may decrease :

  • gestational diabetes
  • vaginal infections such as yeast infections
  • eczema
